Athanasía Aarniosuo is an artist, art writer, and curator living in Vantaa. In her work, she explores themes of nostalgia, identity, and memory through personal stories. She is fascinated by the beauty of human experience and studies how nostalgia and active subjective shaping of that experience influence individual and group identities. In her current artistic practice, Athanasía researches visual expressions of nostalgia and the formation of communities around popular culture phenomena.
Athanasía is working on her second comic book, Unoriginal Score. Her previous comics include The Nostalgia EP, and the zines Lovesong, Getting Away with It (All Messed Up), and Lurgee.
Athanasía listens to music obsessively and feels intensely.
