Esko is a comic artist and illustrator who lives and works in Tampere. Typical elements in his comics are Surrealism and influences from pop art, especially horror. The subjects of Esko’s works are usually people’s adversities in relationships, depression and substance abuse problems. Recently, he has also made satirical art about social phenomena, where he tries to use elements of horror and mockery to describe the absurdity of the subject. Esko has published a comprehensive number of zines, and his cartoons have been included in several anthologies and magazines. He has done illustrations for various magazines, books and private clients.
