Kutikuti’s new podcast series Ulos kuplasta – Kurittomuutta, kuvakerrontaa ja viivan kauneutta (Out of the Bubble – Disobedience, Visual Storytelling and the Beauty of the Line), focusing on contemporary comics, has been released.

The podcast delves into fascinating creators and works, anchoring them within a broader societal context. Episode topics include, for example, the political dimensions of contemporary comics, stylistic choices in comic expression, and feminism in comics. The language of the podcast is Finnish.

Guests on the podcast include comic artists Suvi Ermilä, Roope Eronen, Juliana Hyrri, Lauri Mäkimurto, Kati Rapia, Heikki Rönkkö, Riina Tanskanen, and comics scholar Ralf Kauranen. The discussions are guided by the series’ writer and host, Tiina Lehikoinen. The production team also includes Hannele Richert and sound designer Jari Vaara.

The podcast is part of Kutikuti’s three-year project Trends in Contemporary Comics, which aims to promote awareness and visibility of contemporary comics. The project is funded by the Kone Foundation.
